My role at PHBC: Senior Pastor
Personal Story: I was raised in a Christian home. I committed my life to Jesus as my Lord and Savior at the age of nine. At 16 years old, I reaffirmed that decision and at age 19 I had an even deeper recommitment of life to Christ. Also, at age 19, I surrendered to God’s call to full-time vocational ministry.
Spiritual Gifts: Teaching, Shepherding and Prophecy
I started serving at PHBC: December 1992
Most fulfilling part of my work: Baptizing someone and seeing someone commit to follow Jesus as Lord and Savior and then watch them grow in their commitment.
Recent books / influential books I have enjoyed: The Bible; The New Eve, by Robert Lewis; The Grace Awakening by Charles Swindoll; Fresh Wind, Fresh Fire, by Jim Cymbala; Experiencing God, by Henry Blackaby.
Favorite book of the Bible: Acts
My hobbies: Sports, Softball, Golf and Model Trains
I’d give anything to meet: My grandkids
I hope heaven includes: You (whoever is reading this)
The smartest thing I’ve done: Choose Jesus and marry Lisa
The dumbest thing I’ve ever done: Trying to catch that softball regardless…….
The best way to pray for me: Saturdays’ temptations as I approach Sundays to preach; and for me to have a bold faith and a humble spirit.
