Education Background: Louisiana College BA Pre-Seminary Theology major with minors in Greek and Psychology.  Southern Baptist Theological Seminary MDiv/CE Masters in Divinity and Christian Education with an emphasis in Family Ministry.

Ministry Background: I served two churches during college, Union Baptist in Deville, LA where I did music and youth and First Baptist Church Marco, LA where I served the youth; in Seminary I served Hillsdale Baptist Church as a Children’s Minister. After seminary, I served Highlawn Baptist Church in Huntington, WV where I served as Minister of Education.

My family: Cheryl and I have two adult children who are both married. Josh and his wife, Angie, live in Mt. Pleasant with their little girl, Madison. Kelli and her husband, Ryan, live in Nashville with their little girl, Lydia. It is wonderful to have our children so close to us.

My role at PHBC: Minister of Education

Spiritual Gifts: Teaching and Administration

I started serving at PHBC: August, 2002

Most fulfilling part of my work: Seeing God active in people’s lives.

Favorite book of the Bible: James

My hobbies: Reading, Model trains and Woodworking.

The smartest thing I’ve done: No doubt, hands down, marrying Cheryl.

The dumbest thing I’ve ever done: selling my 1981 Dodge Pickup.

If I could live at any point in history: I think we live in a great day and time. It is certainly a key time for missions for the world is open in ways we have never seen before.

The best way to pray for me: That I would always be sensitive to God’s voice and obedient to His will.
